Downloading eWON Support Files using eBuddy

As eWON support specialists, we often ask for a copy of the support files using eBuddy; these files can help us key in on things that may be causing issues. The process of retrieving these files is very seamless using eBuddy.

Ensure that you have a connection to your eWON unit either through Talk2M (using e-Catcher) or an available LAN port on the eWON. Once the connection has been established, open up eBuddy. If you do not yet have eBuddy installed, you can find the free download here. Once the software has been installed and opened, you will arrive at the following screen:

From here you will need to click on the "Backup/Restore Application" link.

Next, you will need to click on the radio button that reads "Backup" and also select the "Include Support Files" check box.

Click next. You will then be prompted to enter the IP address of your eWON in addition to the username and password. (Note: At this point your Windows firewall must be turned off before proceeding to the next step)

Once your eWON credentials have been entered, you will then arrive at the following screen. You will then need to click the ellipses in order to point to the directory where the file will be installed on your PC. By default, the file is given the name "ewon.tar". You have the option to change the filename, however, the file type will need to remain a .tar file type. Once you are comfortable with the file name and location, click Save.

You will arrive at the following screen:

Click Next and the file transmission process will begin. If there are no issues you will receive the following message "Backup successfully downloaded."  From here click finish and you are all set to e-mail us your support files.

If you have followed all of the above procedures and are still having issues, as always, feel free to give us a call at 800-889-1461.
