Confirm eWON Will Work For You

While the eWON and Talk2M solution provide a simple and secure method to remotely access your PLCs and other devices, there are a few preliminary steps you can take to ensure the solution will work in your environment. Before any attempts are made to install the eWON, it is helpful to perform the following:

1) Verify whether one of the required ports (TCP 443 or UDP 1194) are indeed open on the firewall that may sit between the eWON and the internet. We find that the vast majority of the time, at least TCP 443 is reachable as it is used for HTTPS; however, you can confirm before even purchasing your first unit. Validate this by running the Talk2M connection checker. This is a free Windows software utility that can be downloaded at the following location:

*Important: This utility should be run on a Windows laptop from the exact location where the eWON will be installed.

Once you have successfully passed the connection test then you are ready for the next step.

2) Review and complete the "Installing eWON & Talk2M - Customer checklist".  This document assists you with a step-by-step approach to eWON network configuration parameters, firmware upgrades, software downloads, etc.  This checklist can be downloaded at the following location:
